On January 5, 2025, Dr. Irena Lovčević, IRCN Postdoctoral Fellow, was awarded the Peter Jusczyk Best Paper Award 2024 for her research article, based on her PhD work:
Infants’ Lexical Processing: Independent Contributions of Attentional and Clarity Cues.

This prestigious award is presented annually by the editors of Language Learning and Development to the best paper published in the journal each year. Preference is given to papers whose first authors are within five years of obtaining their doctorate.

Dr Irena Lovčević is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the IRCN
Hensch Laboratory- BabyLab. She is interested in how various family and environmental factors influence language acquisition in infants. Irena completed her PhD at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, Western Sydney University, Australia where she investigated early language development in infants with congenital hearing loss.
