We are pleased to welcome Dr. Davide Bottari from IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy as IRCN Guest Researcher from November 16, 2023 to January 16, 2024. We hope that he will have a meaningful time with us as a member of IRCN.

Name
Davide Bottari
Affiliation
IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy
Principal Investigator Assistant Professor (tenured)
Research Theme
I investigate how the human brain represents the external world through sensory information and how sensory experience in infancy and adulthood shapes these representations. By studying typical development, sensory deprivation (e.g., blindness or deafness), and sensory restoration (e.g., cochlear implanted individuals), we explore mechanisms underlying functional organization and development of these representations, as well as their sensitive periods.
Message
I'm honored to have the chance to connect with researchers at IRCN in Tokyo. I will remain until the 16th of January; feel free to drop by my office anytime (in the IRCN Visitors’ Room or write to me at davide.bottari#imtlucca.it) (Please replace # with @ before using this email address). I'm eager to explore the ongoing research at the IRCN and see labs.
