{"id":49855,"date":"2026-06-02T15:11:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T06:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/?p=49855"},"modified":"2026-06-02T15:41:53","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T06:41:53","slug":"20260414_nycu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/en\/news\/20260414_nycu","title":{"rendered":"[NEWS] IRCN Welcomes NYCU Delegation for Interdisciplinary Research Exchange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>On April 14, 2026, International Research Center for Neurointelligence (WPI-IRCN) welcomed a delegation of five researchers and one staff member from <a href=\"https:\/\/cls.nycu.edu.tw\/us\/welcome-to-college-of-life-sciences-2\"style=color:blue>The College of Life Sciences at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU)<\/a>, Taiwan, to a day visit of scientific exchange and laboratory tours.<\/p>\n<p>The program opened with remarks from IRCN Director <a href=\"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/en\/mission\/people\/takao_k_hensch\"style=color:blue>Takao Hensch<\/a>, who joined online from Boston to introduce IRCN\u2019s interdisciplinary research initiatives at the forefront of neurointelligence research, highlighting recent scientific advances and future directions in the field. Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/ins.nycu.edu.tw\/index.php\/en\/institute-of-neuroscience-nycu\/faculty\/chengchang-lien\/\"style=color:blue>Cheng-Chang Lien<\/a>, Dean, the College of Life Sciences, also introduced advanced research initiatives spanning diverse areas of the life sciences at NYCU.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers from NYCU working accross a broad range of fields\u2014including neuroscience, gut microbiome research, protein science, and cancer research\u2014engaged in active discussions with IRCN Director Takao Hensch, Deputy Director (DD) <a href=\"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/en\/mission\/people\/kazuo_emoto\"style=color:blue>Kazuo Emoto<\/a> (PI), DD <a href=\"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/en\/mission\/people\/kenichi_ohki\"style=color:blue>Kenichi Ohki<\/a> (PI), and Administrative Director <a href=\"https:\/\/ircn.jp\/en\/mission\/people\/mayumi_kimura\"style=color:blue>Mayumi Kimura<\/a>. The discussions provided a valuable opportunity for both institutions to exchange research perspectives and deepen academic dialogue across diverse areas of the life sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Following the discussions, the NYCU delegation visited the representative laboratories of PI Kenichi Ohki, PI Takamitsu Watanabe, and PI Yukie Nagai. They learned about the research approaches of each laboratory and were also introduced to IRCN\u2019s core facilities, including the Imaging Core and Human fMRI Core, gaining insight into the advanced equipment and research activities conducted at IRCN.<\/p>\n<p>The visit provided an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding between IRCN and NYCU and laid the groundwork for future research exchange and academic collaboration between the two institutions.<\/p>\n<p><wbr><\/p>\n<div style=\"display:flex;
